Is the rattan on this set real or synthetic?

The rattan used is synthetic PE (polyethylene) rattan wicker. Unlike natural rattan, PE rattan does not crack, fade or deteriorate when exposed to rain, UV light or temperature changes. This makes it far more suitable for outdoor use in the UK climate. The PE rattan is woven over a rust-resistant galvanised metal frame, which adds structural strength and longevity.

Are the cushions waterproof and can they be washed?

The cushion covers are made from water-resistant polyester cloth and are designed to resist light rain and moisture. They have zip fastenings so they can be removed and washed when needed. The cushions themselves are filled with 8cm thick cotton for comfort. The polyester cloth is also listed as anti-flaming. For general care, the set should be wiped with a dry cloth.
