Rattan Garden Furniture With Fire Pit
Rattan garden furniture with fire pit tables keeps the patio in use long after the sun goes down. Every set here has a gas fire pit built into the middle of the table, so you get a warm glow, somewhere to put plates and drinks, and seats for four to nine people in all-weather PE rattan.
Choose a dining-height set with six armchairs for long evening meals, or a low corner sofa set for lounging round the flames. The guide below the sets compares sizes, gas bottles and safety. For garden furniture without a burner, see our rattan dining sets and rattan corner sofas.

Why choose rattan garden furniture with fire pit tables?
A fire pit set puts the heat where people sit. Rather than a patio heater in one corner or a wood-burning bowl on the lawn, the burner sits in the centre of the table, behind a glass wind guard, with a flat surface all round it. On a cool spring or autumn evening that is the difference between heading indoors at eight o'clock and staying out till late.
All the garden furniture sets in this collection run on bottled propane gas, not wood. That matters with rattan: there are no sparks, no smoke blowing into the cushions and no ash to clear up. You turn a knob, press the ignition and it lights; turn it off and it is out. When the fire is not needed, the lid goes on and the firepit table works as an ordinary garden table.
- Heat: the burners are rated at 50,000 BTU, roughly 14.7kW, with lava rocks or glass stones over the flame
- Safety: a wind guard round the flame on every set, and a thermocouple that cuts the gas if the flame goes out on the models that list one
- Storage: on most sets the gas bottle hides inside the table base, so there is no hose trailing across the patio
- Weather: PE rattan over a powder-coated steel or aluminium frame, made to stay in the garden through the season
Fire pit dining sets or garden sofa sets?
The biggest choice is height. A fire pit dining set and a fire pit sofa set look alike in photos, but one is for eating and the other is for relaxing, and the table and seat heights show it.
Fire pit dining sets
The Outsunny 867-166 has a 150cm x 85cm tempered glass dining table at a proper 74cm high, with six high-back armchairs at a 42cm seat height. That is the same height as an indoor dining table, so plated meals, a roast or a takeaway for six all work. The burner runs down the middle, so keep serving dishes to the ends and plates round the edge.
- Best for: families who eat outside and want the warmth to carry on after the meal
- Seats: six armchairs, each rated to 120kg
- Colours: grey or black weave with grey cushions
Fire pit sofa and corner sofa sets
The lounge sets have a lower firepit table at coffee table height (62cm to 69cm) and deep sofa seats at 31.5cm to 36cm before the cushions. They are made for drinks, nibbles and long conversations rather than knife-and-fork dining. Choose between a compact four-seat set with armchairs, an eight-seater with two long sofas, or a nine-seat L-shaped corner sofa set with three footstools.
- Best for: entertaining, sitting out with a blanket and a hot drink, bigger groups
- Seats: four to nine, counting footstools on the larger sets
- Colours: grey, or cream white with light cushions
Some other brands sell a rising table that lifts from coffee height to dining height. None of the sets here have one, so pick the height you will use most. If you want a big set and do not need the flame, our 8 seater rattan garden furniture and 10 seater sets have more choice.
Rattan fire pit sets compared
Here are the rattan garden furniture sets with fire pits in this collection side by side. Dimensions and specs are from the Aosom product details. Prices change every day in the feed, so the last column is a band rather than an exact figure.
| Set | Style | Seats | Fire pit table | Seat height | Frame | Price band |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Outsunny 860-335 (grey) | 5-piece sofa set | 4 seater: 2 armchairs + 2 side chairs (join as a loveseat) | 110 x 74 x 62cm, ceramic top | 31.5cm | Powder-coated steel | £700-£750 |
| Outsunny 867-166 (grey or black) | 7-piece dining set | 6 seater: 6 high-back armchairs | 150 x 85 x 74cm, tempered glass | 42cm | Powder-coated galvanised steel | £720-£760 |
| Outsunny 860-290 (grey or cream white) | 7-piece L-shaped corner sofa | 9 seater: 3 double sofas + 3 stools | 150 x 85 x 64cm, tempered glass | 33cm | Galvanised alloy steel | £1,050-£1,150 |
| Outsunny 860-170 (grey, light brown cushions) | 5-piece L-shape | 8 seater: 2 three-seater sofas + 2 stools | 150 x 80 x 69cm | 36cm | Aluminium | About £1,190 |
Every burner is rated at 50,000 BTU and none of the sets come with a gas bottle. The 860-170 is the only one with an aluminium frame and a furniture cover in the box. The 860-290 corner sofa set and the 867-166 dining set both use pulse ignition, which needs one AAA battery.
Our fire pit garden furniture picks
Which gas bottle do you need?
This is the question most shops skip, and it decides how well your fire pit performs. All of these tables burn propane (sold as patio gas), not butane. Liquid Gas UK, the trade body for the industry, is clear that propane must be used outdoors only, and that you should check the label rather than rely on the bottle's colour.
Bottle size and fit
- 5kg patio gas: Calor's 5kg patio gas bottle is 39cm high and 30cm across and uses a 27mm clip-on regulator. It fits the 860-335, whose base takes a bottle up to 30.6cm wide and 41.4cm tall.
- Larger bottles: Aosom lists the 860-290 corner sofa sets as taking an 11kg tank. Calor's 13kg patio gas bottle is 58cm tall, so measure the hatch before you buy one.
- Regulator and hose: the 860-290 listing says the hose and regulator come fitted and the 860-335 includes a 1.2m hose. Check the product page for the rest, and match the regulator to the bottle.
How long does a bottle last?
A 50,000 BTU burner on full uses about 14.7kW. Calor gives a recommended offtake of about 10kW for the 5kg bottle and 15kW for the 13kg one, so a small bottle is happiest with the burner turned down a little. As a rough guide, propane gives around 14kWh per kilogram, so expect four to five hours on full from 5kg and nearer twelve from 13kg. Most people run the burner at half or less once everyone is warm, which stretches a bottle a long way.
How much space does a fire pit set need?
Fire pit garden furniture needs clear space round the table as well as room for the seats. Measure your outdoor space - patio, decking or lawn - before you choose.
- Start with the table. The dining and corner sets use a 150cm x 80-85cm firepit table; the 860-335 is 110cm x 74cm.
- Add the seats. The 867-166 chairs are 60cm deep, so with chairs on both long sides the dining set is about 2m wide before you add walking room.
- For an L-shape, measure both arms. The 860-170 sofas are 205cm and 189cm long, and the 860-290 is made of three 130-134cm double sofas, so allow about 2.6m along the long side.
- Leave 60cm or more behind chairs so people can stand up and walk round.
- Keep the burner in the open: away from garden fences, hedges, sheds, overhanging branches, a gazebo roof or an awning.
Mark the shape on the ground with string and walk round it. If it is tight, a four-seat set or the 4 seater garden furniture range may suit the space better. For a bigger patio, compare the large rattan corner sofas.
Frames, rattan and cushions in a British garden
Every garden furniture set here is PE rattan, a weather-resistant synthetic polyethylene weave. Unlike natural rattan, it does not soak up rain, crack in frost or fade quickly in the sun, which is why it suits garden furniture that lives outside. The weave is the outer layer; the frame underneath decides how long the furniture lasts.
- Aluminium (860-170) does not rust, so it is the easiest choice if the set stays out all year.
- Galvanised, powder-coated steel (867-166 and 860-290) is zinc-coated and then painted. It is strong and heavy, and resists rust well as long as chips in the coating are touched up.
- Powder-coated steel (860-335) is fine with a cover and a dry winter spot.
Cushion covers are removable and washable on every set. The 860-170 uses olefin-type fabric that is UV-resistant and flame-retardant; the others are polyester. Cushions are not waterproof, so bring them in or store them in a box when rain is forecast. If you want a particular colour, browse grey rattan garden furniture, black rattan garden furniture or cream rattan garden furniture.
Using a gas fire pit table safely
A gas fire pit is simple to use, but it is still an open flame on a garden table. Follow the manual that comes with your set, and these basics:
- Use it outdoors only, in the open air. Never under a closed gazebo, in a conservatory or inside a garage.
- Keep the glass wind guard in place while it is lit, and never leave the fire pit burning unattended.
- Check new connections with soapy water: bubbles mean a leak. Never test with a flame.
- Turn it off at the bottle when you have finished, not just at the knob.
- Let the burner and glass cool before you fit the lid or a cover.
- Keep the bottle upright, and store spare bottles outside, away from drains and sources of heat.
- Replace a worn hose, and the regulator in line with the maker's guidance. Liquid Gas UK notes this is often every ten years from the date of manufacture.
- Look for a CE or UKCA mark on the burner, and keep children and pets back from the glass.
Looking after fire pit garden furniture in winter
Rattan furniture with a fire pit can be used all year, and a frosty night round the flames is half the fun. Between uses, a little care keeps it looking good:
- Fit the lid or steel cover so rain does not sit on the lava rocks and the burner.
- Use a rain cover over the whole garden furniture set in the wettest months. The 860-170 comes with one; for the others, buy a cover sized to the full L-shape.
- Disconnect the bottle in long cold spells and keep the regulator and hose covered.
- Bring cushions into a garden shed or garage for the winter.
- Wipe the rattan and glass with a damp cloth and mild soap; no pressure washers or harsh cleaners.
Furniture assembly is straightforward but heavy work. The sets arrive flat packed in three to five boxes and weigh 95kg to 123kg in all, so plan on two people; Aosom estimates about an hour for the 860-335. Delivery and guarantee details are on each product page.
Rattan fire pit set FAQs
Can I burn wood in a rattan fire pit table?
No. These fire pit tables are built for propane gas only. Wood, charcoal or firelighters would damage the burner and the glass, and sparks could catch the cushions or the rattan.
Does the gas bottle come with the garden furniture?
No, you buy it separately. Get propane patio gas from a local stockist and check it fits inside the table base before you buy.
How warm does a 50,000 BTU fire pit get?
Aosom says it is enough to warm about six people sitting round the table. It takes the chill off a cool evening, but it is not as strong as a tall patio heater, so a throw is still welcome on a frosty night.
Can I eat at a fire pit table?
Yes, with the lid on the burner it is just a garden table, and when it is lit you can still use the glass round the edge. The 74cm 867-166 is the one for proper meals; the lower sofa set tables suit drinks and snacks.
Can I leave rattan fire pit furniture outside all year?
The frame and weave are made as outdoor furniture, but cover the set in the wettest months, bring the cushions in and disconnect the bottle in long cold spells. An aluminium frame like the 860-170's copes best with a damp winter.
